VU Choir Summer Concert: Bach’s Mass in B minor | June 18

Join us this Summer as the VU Choir and VU Chamber Orchestra will perform Bach’s Mass in B Minor at Hofkerk Amsterdam!

The VU Choir is an international university choir led by our enthusiastic conductor Dody Soetanto and currently consists of more than 80 members. This concert is in collaboration with the VU Chamber Orchestra led by conductor Jasper de Waal, with around 30 members, and the soloists:

– Soprano: Elvira Beekhuizen
– Soprano: Kaiyi Min van Iterson
– Alto: Rosina Fabius
– Tenor: Carlos Negrin Lopez
– Bass: Jaap van der Wel

As a group of passionate singers and musicians, we are proud to showcase our hard work in bringing to life this iconic choral masterpiece.

Bach’s Mass in B Minor is considered as one of the greatest choral works of all time. It is a monumental piece that combines Bach’s mastery of counterpoint, harmony and lyricism. This composition is a testament to Bach’s musical genius and spiritual devotion. We are honored to share its beauty and depth with you.
